Our vision of ‘Empowering Asia’s Cyclists and Mechanics’ starts here.

The Bike School Asia ‘Asian Bike Mechanic Scholarship’ engages young adults of limited financial means with a life-changing opportunity to develop their potential as bike mechanics, equipping and empowering them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to serve their communities and advance their careers in the bike industry.

Scholarship recipients will attend Bike School Asia’s 6-day Certified Bike Mechanic course in Singapore.

  • Scholarship course date: 19—24 June 2018.
  • Application period: February—March 2018. Application closes at 2359 hrs on 31 March 2018. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Scholarship recipients will be notified in mid-April 2018.
  • A maximum of 8 scholarships will be awarded for the course.
  • The scholarship covers the fees of our Certified Bike Mechanic course.

The scholarship is open to individuals aged 16—25, living in Asia. Scholarship applicants MUST:

  • be currently employed, interned or training at a bicycle shop, co-op, or bicycle-enabled business with a physical storefront or office. Online ‘bike shops’ are excluded. This is a crucial selection criteria because simply knowing a skill means nothing if that knowledge is not matched with some type of action, i.e. work!

  • be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • provide a short essay
  • agree to a publicity/photography waiver and agreement
