This 3-day course is a comprehensive, hands-ons programme where you’ll learn basic to advanced techniques of bike maintenance. Through lessons, demonstrations and a great deal of hands-on experience, you will complete a component-by-component study of bicycle. The information presented is applicable to the service and maintenance of all types of bicycles. Some of the topics covered include:
Bike terminology, taxonomy and anatomy
Troubleshooting typical problems and how to fix them
Servicing, removal and re-installation of headsets, bottom brackets and cranks
Servicing, removal and re-installation of mechanical brake systems, derailleurs, and more

No prior mechanic is experience required but you should be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Preferably 16 years and older.
Students will be assessed through a combination of written and practical tests. Those who pass will be awarded Bike School Asia’s Certified Bike Technician certification while those who complete the course without taking the tests will receive a Certificate of Completion.

If you’re thinking of working in a bicycle shop, or are already working in a shop, but have little or no formal training, this is the course for you! Students will acquire the skills and knowledge to work in bicycle shops as Certified Bicycle Technicians.
