Learn to build bicycle wheels!
This 2-day course aims to start students on the path to becoming competent wheel builders. Building wheels from scratch is the best way to learn the craft of wheel truing, to get the feel for how a wheel responds to spoke adjustments. Students will build a high-quality set of wheels using professional tools and components.
Full-time. This course is conducted over two full days, from 9am to 5pm with lunch and short breaks in between.

Naturally, students with some prior wheel building experience or those who have taken our Bike Maintenance course would have a strong foundation to build on. That said, no prior mechanic is experience required but you should be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Preferably 16 years and older.
Home Mechanics
Too complicated, too likely to get it wrong, too easy to get someone else to do it. All fair points, but wheel building is actually not difficult. A knowledge of wheel building can be invaluable to any cyclist who wishes to do his or her own maintenance and repair.
Vocational Mechanics
According to Sheldon “Wheels” Brown, a “mechanic” who has not mastered this basic skill cannot be considered to be a fully-qualified professional, and will always feel inferior to those who can list wheel building among their skills. Master wheel building and you’ll be in the league of extraordinary mechanics!
